When the Political Systems Crumble - From Galilee: A Call to Stand Firm
Good morning from rainy and cold Galilee!
Winter has arrived, and with it the reality of the deep state’s determination to push Gadi Eizenkot toward forming a minority government dependent on terror-supporting Arab parties.
America, too, is waking up to a new dawn, with its own deep state working to paralyze the current administration.
But God…
Since when do we put our trust in politicians?
The Israeli left is poised to break two of its most important promises to its voters: not to form a government dependent on Arab parties and not to sit with the ultra-Orthodox Jewish parties.
Meanwhile, in America, the vice president is blaming the election loss on a war he bears personal responsibility for prolonging.
So let me remind you all:
“Do not put your trust in princes,
in human beings, who cannot save.
When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.
Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the LORD their God.”
(Psalm 146:3–5)
I don’t see a bright future for the political systems of Israel and America. But I do know that God can turn the hearts of leaders and use even these circumstances to turn people’s hearts toward Him. (Proverbs 21:1)
Tragedies often bring people closer to God. We have seen that since October 7 among many hostages, wounded soldiers, and bereaved families.
October 7 also marked a profound shift throughout the world. While some hearts turned toward God, others revealed the hatred within them. Hatred of Israel has exposed many who call themselves Christians yet show contempt for the very people Paul warned Gentile believers not to boast against. (Romans 11:17–21)
I believe God is testing the world, and its treatment of Israel is part of that test.
GOD IS TESTING THE WORLD! ISRAEL IS THE TEST.
His promise to Abraham still stands: “I will bless those who bless you.” (Genesis 12:3)
That promise echoes in Balaam’s prophecy concerning Israel. Numbers 24:8–9 describes God bringing Israel out of Egypt and giving the nation strength against its enemies. The prophecy then declares:
“Blessed is he who blesses you,
And cursed is he who curses you!”
(Numbers 24:9)
And Paul reminds us that Israel remains beloved because of the fathers, “for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” (Romans 11:28–29)
This is why our response must be rooted in God’s Word. This morning, I choose to stand firm in His sovereignty and hold to the LITERAL interpretation of His Word. I believe we will still see Him work in ways we cannot even imagine! (Ephesians 3:20)
Do I think the world will become better and safer? No!
Do I think the forces of the enemy will grow weaker as the end approaches? No! (2 Timothy 3:1–5, 13)
Do I think we have many more years left here? No! But we do not know the day or the hour. (Matthew 24:36)
While we are still here, we must live as the salt of the earth, slowing the decay, and as the light of the world, shining in the darkness. (Matthew 5:13–16) I also believe the Holy Spirit, working through the Church, restrains evil until the appointed time. (2 Thessalonians 2:6–7)
Chin up! Look up! Our redemption draws near! (Luke 21:28)
Until He comes, let’s be about His business, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil. Let’s not grow weary in doing good! (Luke 19:13; Ephesians 5:15–16; Galatians 6:9)
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
(2 Timothy 1:7)
Awaiting His Soon Return,
Amir
