Ilhan Omar's (D-MN) 5th Congressional District voted this month to eliminate saying the Pledge of Allegiance during city council meetings because it doesn't want to offend people. CBS Minnesota reports that members of the St. Louis Park City Council voted unanimously in a 5 to 0 vote to ditch saying the Pledge of Allegiance "in order to create a more welcoming environment to a diverse community." City Council member Anne Mavity sponsored the change, saying that the Pledge of Allegiance did not reflect the city's values, according to KARE 11. "Not everyone who does business with the city or has a conversation is a citizen," Mavity said. "They certainly don't need to come into city council chambers and pledge their allegiance to our country in order to tell us what their input is about a sidewalk in front of their home." On Sunday MSNBC played a clip from the Alice B. Toklas Club Annual Pride Breakfast in San Francisco in which 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) said she was running for president so President Donald Trump could not take the country back before all couples could marry. Harris said, “The current occupant of the White House has no appreciation, no interest clearly and probably no knowledge of this history, of this work.” She continued, “He says he wants to make America great again. Again for whom? Back before couples could marry, all couples? And the 93-year-old from Morris Plains, NJ, has no time for Rep. ­Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s statements last week, when she called the southern border’s migrant detention centers “concentration camps.” “She should be removed from Congress. She’s spreading anti-Semitism, hatred and stupidity,” Mosberg told The Post. “The people on the border aren’t forced to be there — they go there on their own will.
