Five Things Christians Believe about Hell That Are Not Biblical

Image
By Whitney Hopler Hell is a topic that has fascinated and troubled people since ancient times. It is a place often associated with divine punishment, eternal suffering, and fiery torment. However, what many Christians believe about hell may not align with what the Bible actually teaches. Hell is a complex and challenging subject for many people. A majority of U.S. adults say they believe in hell – 62 percent overall, and 79 percent of those who are Christians – according to a recent   Pew Research Center survey . But many myths about hell are popular in our culture. It’s important for believers to discern between popular misconceptions and what the Bible says about hell. So, let’s consider five common beliefs about hell that are not biblically supported.  Myth 1: God sends people to hell. Unfortunately, many people believe that it is God who chooses to send people to hell. That’s not true, however. God does not send people to hell; instead, people send themselves there. W

Jack Smith Demands Gag Order for Trump for Claiming Gen. Milley Should Be Executed For Treason

Image
By Jamie White Special counsel Jack Smith submitted a new court filing demanding a gag order for former President Donald Trump, citing his disparaging remarks against the judge in his case, Judge Tanya Chutkan, as well as outgoing Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley. Smith two weeks ago filed a motion for a  limited gag order against Trump, but on Friday Smith submitted a new motion in response to recent criticisms the former president made against Milley, Chutkan, former Vice President Mike Pence, and former Attorney General Bill Barr. The  filing reads : “The Government’s proposed order restricting the parties’ statements under Local Criminal Rule 57.7(c) is necessary and appropriate to protect the due administration of justice in this case. The defendant’s opposition to it is based on several faulty premises: that the defendant need not face even the most limited imposition in order to protect the public interest in the due administration of justice; th

Newsflash: Texans Tote Guns

Image
The Washington Post seemed shocked to learn that certain Americans enjoy exercising their Second Amendment rights.   By Brian Mark Weber Some things in life are certain: death, taxes, and Texans owning guns. The fact that people living in the Lone Star state are packing is only a surprise to those in the Leftmedia. The Washington Post, in particular, seems to make a big deal out of something everybody already knows. Reporter Molly Hennessy-Fiske states the obvious,  writing : “Neighbors tuck guns into bedside tables, cars and trucks. They take guns fishing, to church, the park, the pool, the gym, the movies — even to protests at the state Capitol. The convention center hosts gun shows where shoppers peruse AR-15s and high-capacity magazines outlawed in other states. Texas billboards offer an endless stream of advertisements for ammunition, silencers and other accessories.” She could have mentioned that the Earth is round, or that the sun sets in the west every evening. “It has been leg

House Passes 45-Day Continuing Resolution to Avert Government Shutdown

Image
By Joe Cunningham The House of Representatives  has passed a 45-day continuing resolution  that would fund the government until mid-November. The measure now moves to the Senate for a vote. The measure was adopted under a process where usual House rules  were suspended . That move required a two-thirds majority to pass. Hours ahead of the government shutdown deadline, the House has passed a 45-day short-term spending bill. The bill has to clear two more hurdles. Follow live updates: https://t.co/6g1GkOGMdJ — CNN Breaking News (@cnnbrk) September 30, 2023 The passage of the "clean CR" was not without drama. One Democrat moved to adjourn the House until Monday in an effort to give members time to read the bill. There is also the  ongoing investigation into Rep. Jamaal Bowman , who is alleged to have pulled a fire alarm at the Cannon Building today in the middle of proceedings. The Senate is expected to pass the measure, averting a shutdown that would begin at 12:01 a.m. t

11 United Nations Member Countries PUSH BACK Against Pandemic Declaration

Image
By Laura Harris Eleven member countries of the United Nations (UN)  have expressed their opposition to a pandemic declaration that conceals a framework for medical martial law. The 11 countries – Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Eritrea, Iran, Nicaragua, North Korea, Russia, Syria, Venezuela and Zimbabwe – voiced out their opposition  in a Sept. 17 letter addressed to UN General Assembly (UNGA) President Dennis Francis. The joint correspondence from the 11 nations' permanent representatives  pushed back against the final draft of the UN's Political Declaration of the UNGA High-level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response (PPPR) Aside from the declaration, the letter also disagreed with the draft political declarations of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals Summit. Declarations drafted during the high-level meetings on universal health coverage and the fight against tuberculosis were likewise opposed – for a total of four

Commentary: The Hollywood Strike Shows AI is Coming for Art

Image
By PETER GIETL In the first battle of the artificial intelligence wars, the humans have scored a victory. It may prove illusory, but after a 148-day strike, the studios blinked in their standoff with the Writer’s Guild of America. The concurrent strike by SAG-AFTRA, the working actors’ union, continues. As usual, much of the negotiations revolve around streaming revenue and job security. The major sticking point, however, proved to be the future use of AI in content creation. Several  sources have reported that negotiations repeatedly broke down over how studios may use AI technology in the future. The actors’ union stands to lose even more than the writers with the rise of AI. While AI content would theoretically always need to be edited and rewritten by actual humans, studios could scan extras and use their digital replicas forever. Credited actors could also have their replicas and voices starring in films long after their deaths. Get ready f

The Causes and Necessity of Taking Up Arms

Image
By Thomas Jefferson & John Dickinson, July 6, 1775 Written by Thomas Jefferson and John Dickinson to clarify why the Second Continental Congress had taken up arms against the British.   A declaration by the Representatives of the United Colonies of North America, now met in General Congress at Philadelphia, setting forth the causes and necessity of their taking up arms. If it was possible for men, who exercise their reason, to believe, that the Divine Author of our existence intended a part of the human race to hold an absolute property in, and an unbounded power over others, marked out by his infinite goodness and wisdom, as the objects of a legal domination never rightfully resistible, however severe and oppressive, the Inhabitants of these Colonies might at least require from the Parliament of Great Britain some evidence, that this dreadful authority over them, has been granted to that body. But a reverence for our great Creator, principles of humanity, and the dictates of c

Never Mind Those Hordes of Military-Aged Chinese Men With the Same Clothing, Haircuts, and Tattoos Swarming Our Southern Border

Image
By KEVIN DOWNEY JR. Experts believe that more than seven million illegal immigrants have crossed the border since *President Biden occupied the White House. The apparatchiks in the Pravda Press downplay the situation by assuring us the invaders are “families,” even though most of the videos we see are of single, military-aged men, frequently from Venezuela. But the most onerous onslaught at our northern and southern borders is the disturbing number of single, military-aged Chinese men and women finding their way into our country and disappearing once they get in. FACT-O-RAMA! Between January and March of 2022, 71 Chinese individuals crossed the Darien Gap, the strip of land that connects North and South America, the route preferred by the Chinese. During the same time frame this year, 2,200 made the journey. You can see a video of young, Chinese nationals lining up for buses in Panama headed for the U.S. Why would Chinese nationals fly into Panama and make a seemi
