Hoover Dam Just Delivered the Most American Thing You'll See All Week

Image
By Ben Smith While the left spent Memorial Day weekend protesting and posting takes about American guilt, the Trump Administration lit up Hoover Dam with a 300-foot American flag and 500 LED lights blazing red, white, and blue into the Nevada canyon walls. The display runs every night through July 4. This is the kind of America 250 celebration the country actually deserves. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum posted a video of the display on X, accompanied by a patriotic message and a song with lyrics to match. Best dam country in the world 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/utjLZUMRZ0 — Secretary Doug Burgum (@SecretaryBurgum) May 26, 2026 The numbers are staggering. More than 500 automated LED lights, powered by the dam's own hydroelectric generators, run on over 126,000 feet of wire installed by 30 lighting technicians. The flag weighs 2,000 pounds and covers roughly the size of a football field. It took five days of sewing just to get it ready, and it also previously flew at Indianapolis...

Controversial Democrat Who Called for ‘Zionists’ to be Imprisoned Toppled After Backlash

Image
By Charles Creitz Democrat Maureen Galindo, a South Texas sex therapist who drew nationwide ire from Democratic Party leaders, was defeated in her primary runoff against Bexar County Sheriff’s Office official Johnny Garcia, according to the Associated Press. The seat, newly drawn following Texas Republicans’ redistricting effort, is currently represented by "Squad" member Rep. Gregorio Casar. However, the liberal lawmaker is running in an adjacent district being vacated by Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas, leaving the now red-leaning seat up for grabs. Galindo became a national flashpoint when she was accused of antisemitism for floating a plan to imprison "American Zionists" at an ICE detention center in the district while pushing back on suggestions she was trying to create an "internment camp." Galindo shocked observers when she edged out Garcia in the original March primary, which led to Tuesday’s runoff. Garcia, meanwhi...

Oregon Ballot Initiative to Ban Hunting, Fishing Unofficially Achieves Signature Threshold

Image
By AWR HAWKINS Oregon Initiative Petition 28 (IP 28) unofficially reached the signature threshold last week to be on the November 2026 ballot,  according to  KATU. On February 16, 2026, Breitbart News  noted  that IP 28 was being pushed. On February 15, 2026, KOIN  reported  the petition’s official name as the People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions (PEACE) Act. The Act “would change the current Oregon animal cruelty laws, which currently protect pets such as dogs and cats, and would expand coverage to wild animals, livestock and animals used in research.” Petition proponent David Michelson said: We really want to make Oregon the first state to vote on something like this. We are aware that it’s unlikely 50% of Oregonians are ready right now to move away from killing animals. But we want to get that conversation out there. So that we can hopefully move in that direction. KATU  explained  that IP 28 “would make it illegal to injure or kill animals and...

Heads Exploded When Vox Published This Global Warming Report

Image
By Stephen Green "Climate change’s worst-case scenario is officially canceled," young adult infotainment site Vox finally admitted this weekend, causing progressive heads to explode, from the writing staff to its readership. "You’ve probably never heard of the term 'RCP 8.5' — the highest-emission scenario used by climate scientists to project the planet’s future," Vox's Bryan Walsh reported. "But if you’ve read about climate change, you’ve seen the numbers and nightmarish outcomes it produced: 4°C of warming by 2100, sometimes 5°C, sea level rising multiple feet, parts of the planet too hot for humans." Scary stuff, right? Wrong. Even though "those numbers shaped a decade and a half of climate journalism," Walsh continued, he "didn’t always know — and didn’t always communicate — that the scenario behind the most apocalyptic, attention-getting findings was largely ...

SCOTUS Tosses Out Florida's Lawsuit on Immigrant Commercial Driver Licenses

Image
By Ward Clark On Tuesday, the Supreme Court declined to hear a lawsuit by the State of Florida seeking to sue the states of California and Washington over their issuance of Commercial Driver's Licenses (CDLs) to illegal aliens. Florida had taken the unusual step of filing directly with the Supreme Court, and the Court doesn't often decide to hear such original actions. The Supreme Court on Tuesday threw out a long-shot lawsuit in which Florida sought to sue California and Washington for allegedly allowing people who entered the country illegally to obtain commercial truck driver’s licenses. Florida's claim was filed in the aftermath of a high-profile crash in the state last year in which a truck driven by an Indian man, Harjinder Singh, was involved in an accident that left three people dead. The state, which says Singh did not have legal status in the United States, alleges he was wrongly issued licenses i...

Neville Singham Exposed: Hasan Piker Drops New Funding Bombshell

Image
By Ward Clark Here's a funny thing that we've been noticing in the last few years: Identify any far-left organization in the United States, like Code Pink (Code Pinko is more like it) or any far-left croaker, like the notorious Hasan Piker. Follow the trail of support and financing. Sooner or later, it always seems to come back to China. In the latest development, that far-left podcaster, Hasan Piker, has said the quite part out loud, identifying another commie, Neville Roy Singham, as a major financier of American leftist causes - and he, of course, has ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Far-left political influencer Hasan Piker identified American Marxist tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham as a major financier behind a network of pro-communist U.S. nonprofits engaged in "political advocacy" and "a lot of political movements," marking the first public acknowledgment from a figure inside the far-left...

Cornyn Under Fire as Trump Rallies Base Behind Paxton in Republican Party Feud

Image
Hey y'all!, We will be having live coverage of the Texas runoff election tonight starting at 8pm ET. Come join us if you like!  -Tex By Paul Steinhauser  A USTIN, TX - President Donald Trump has a new target this week as he takes aim at Republican critics — longtime GOP Sen. John Cornyn of Texas. Trump is targeting Cornyn as "VERY disloyal" as he backs Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a major Trump ally and MAGA firebrand, in Tuesday's combustible and expensive runoff election for the GOP Senate nomination in the right-leaning state. The ballot box showdown serves as the latest tests of Trump's immense grip over the Republican Party and the strength of his endorsements in GOP nomination races. The winner of the runoff will face off against rising Democratic Party star state Rep. James Talarico in the general election in a race that is among a handful that may decide if ...

Spare Us the Selective Outrage

Image
By Victor Davis Hanson Since October 7, we have been lectured nonstop about the supposedly singular sins of Israel. The campuses, the left-wing media, and the new Democratic Socialist officials, both federal and state, following the cue of student activists and professors from the Middle East, have painted Israel and their Jewish supporters as Nazis, fascists, and among the worst murderers in today’s bloody world. This is nonsensical. The medieval-style massacre of 1,200 Jews in their homes on October 7, during a time of peace, should have increased awareness of the existential dangers Israel faced. Instead, it spawned a gathering storm of antisemitism. What Was Israel Supposed to Do? Note that leftists and pro-Hamas students and faculty were shouting the eliminationist slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” in euphoria almost immediately in response to the news of the slaughter. Hundreds of dead ...
