Kennedy and Dr. Mehmet Oz, Administrator for Medicaid and Medicare Services, announced they will be pausing more than one billion dollars in Medicaid payments to Minnesota and California because of these states' failure to comply with the Trump administration's efforts to combat fraud and abuse of the Medicaid system.  Kennedy announced: CMS is pausing more than a billion dollars in federal Medicaid payments to California and to Minnesota because of suspected fraud and non-compliance. That includes more than 867 million dollars for California and over 200 million dollars for Minnesota. If those states want that money, they have to provide documentation that these payments are legitimate. The Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA) is under scrutiny from Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Scott Turner over its alleged years of mismanaging taxpayer-funded aid. The apparent fraud and financial mismanagement are so bad that the Virgin Islands have earned the nickname “ Minnesota of the Caribbean .” So the Trump administration is suspending funding for VIHFA until it discovers exactly where all the loot went. A petition for quo warranto filed by the state's attorney general accuses Ray County Prosecutor Camille Johnston of failing to recuse herself from the investigation involving the illegal immigrant, Juan David Gutierrez, failing to disclose his whereabouts to law enforcement and transferring him the title to her vehicle to help him abscond.
