Maria Bartiromo Was Let Go From Fox News After Leaking Company Info to Trump: REPORT

Fox News let go of host Maria Bartiromo for leaking company information to the Trump administration, according to a report.
Thursday’s announcement stunned the media world with little explanation of why she was no longer with the network. In a brief statement, Fox said: “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” and said her departure was effective immediately.
Hours later, media watchdog Status provided more details. According to the outlet, after Trump gave a speech in July about election interference, Fox Business officials ordered the network’s top stars to stay clear of Trump's unsubstantiated claims. Several outlets noted that Fox gave little airtime to Trump’s speech in the hours and days that followed.
Bartiromo then leaked the company directive to the White House, according to Status. It's unclear if she reached out first, or the Trump team made the request.
By sharing the information, Bartiromo violated the terms of her employment agreement, Status noted.
Bartiromo has yet to speak out on her dismissal. The Independent has contacted the White House, Fox News and Bartiromo’s reported attorney for comment.
Bartiromo had been linked to the vacant role of press secretary for the Trump administration following the departure of Karoline Leavitt.
However, Vanity Fair’s Washington Correspondent Aidan McLaughlin downplayed the suggestion on X, stating: “Bartiromo is not leaving for a job in the Trump admin, I’m told.”
Fox announced that Thursday’s Mornings with Maria on the Fox Business channel would be the final episode. As of tomorrow, the show will be rebranded as Mornings with Fox Business and will be helmed by a rotating cast of anchors.
The Friday show Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street will also be rebranded as Fox Business Network's Wall Street, and will be hosted this week by Cheryl Casone.
This weekend’s Sunday Morning Futures will be hosted by Jason Chaffetz, with a new host set to be announced at a later date.
Bartiromo, who had become one of the network’s most prominent hosts over the last decade, was known as a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump.
In April, Trump told her during an interview that he was “very surprised” that crude oil prices were “only” at $92 per barrel and predicted that the war could “be over very soon.”
“If you told me that we were going to be at only 92 a barrel, $92 a barrel, I would have been very surprised. All right, and you know what? I'm very happy, and it's going to come dropping down very big as soon as it's over,” he said.
Last June, Bartiromo was mocked after misleadingly sharing a fake Trump social media post.
During an interview with former Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) following the nationwide “No Kings” protest, Bartiromo quoted the fabricated post as she said: “I love the way the president handled it because, congressman, he put out a tweet. He writes: ‘A huge thank you to all the No Kings protesters yesterday. I was very concerned that a King was trying to take my place but thanks to your tireless efforts I am still your president! Great job all!’”
Turning back to Crenshaw, Bartiromo gleefully added: “The president had fun with that!”
