Good Luck With That — Mexican President Wants to Take Legal Action Against ICE for Illegal Alien Death

By Bob Hoge

As RedState’s Susie Moore reported, an ICE agent shot and killed Mexican illegal alien Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston Tuesday.

The officer didn’t fire at him because he was here illegally, though; he allegedly used force because the suspect rammed the law enforcement officer’s vehicle with his own and then tried to run over him. Araujo’s family sees it differently, noting that the 52-year-old had lived here for decades, was a father, had a successful construction gig, and may have panicked over unmarked cars.

But in all those years, he still hadn't managed to become a U.S. citizen.

In response, leftist Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is pondering taking legal action against ICE. I don’t think it’s going to go well for her. She failed to even mention the attempted murder in her speech, instead accusing the U.S. of bad behavior:

“We cannot allow the mistreatment of our brothers who are in the United States,” Sheinbaum said during her morning news conference, referring to a case on Tuesday in Houston…

During her speech, Sheinbaum left out the alleged attack on authorities by Salgado.

“His only fault was not having papers, even though he had been hired by an American company,” she said, adding that the U.S. government and its agencies have a history of oppressing migrants. “They don’t have to be in detention centers or for there to be any violence.”

Sheinbaum claimed that her government was looking into legal avenues, going beyond sending diplomatic notices, which she said, while the U.S. government does respond, migrants continue to die.

Illegal immigrants who “continue to die” usually do so while making the dangerous trek to our southern border, a trip that usually puts them at the mercy of the vicious cartels and leaves women and girls as targets of sexual violence, or while attempting to inflict violence on agents of the law. No one is randomly shooting them for sport.

If there was any wrongdoing by the feds, it’s up to U.S. courts to resolve it, not international bodies or Mexico’s government.

🚨 ABSOLUTE INSANITY

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is suing the UNITED STATES because ICE took out a Mexican illegal alien who tried to run over one of our agents like a damn bowling pin!

This lady’s out here crying “we can’t allow the mistreatment of our fellow Mexicans” while her own country is a cartel playground and she’s cheering on the invasion of America.

Sheinbaum is 100% cartel-owned and operated, straight up enabling the border chaos that’s flooding our nation with criminals.

Her threats are similar to ones she’s made before and will likely have the same “nothing” effect.

The claims follow a recent series of similar comments made in March, in which Sheinbaum said her government would file complaints with the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Despite Sheinbaum’s claims at the time, the move had no effect, as the United States is not a member of the Inter-American Human Rights System, which is made up primarily of Latin American countries and does not include the U.S. or Canada.

I doubt her rhetoric will keep President Donald Trump, acting ICE head David Venturella, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, or Border Czar Tom Homan up at night. The incident occurred on U.S. soil and involved U.S. federal law enforcement, and Mexico can complain all it wants, but there’s little they can do about it. It would be like spitting into the wind.

Sheinbaum should be working on making her own country better, not trying to interfere with the operation of ours.
