ROME — Benedict XVI, the 265 th  pope of the Roman Catholic Church, died peacefully in his bed Saturday morning, the Vatican announced. “With sorrow I inform you that the Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI, passed away today at 9:34 in the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery in the Vatican,” wrote Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni in a statement. “Further information will be provided as soon as possible.” On Wednesday, Pope Francis appealed for special prayers for Benedict, warning that the former pontiff was “seriously ill,” following the former pope’s temporary loss of consciousness on Tuesday evening. Benedict succeeded Saint John Paul II in leading the world’s 1.3 billion Catholics, reigning from April 19, 2005 until his resignation on February 28, 2013. By JORDAN DIXON-HAMILTON Longtime television journalist Barbara Walters died at her New York City home on Friday, a representative of her family announced. “Barbara Walters passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones,” Walters’ representative, Cindi Berger,  said . “She lived her life with no regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for female journalists, but for all women.” Walters is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Dena Guber.   Walters got her start in television journalism in 1961 writing for NBC’s  Today  show. In 1976, Walters moved to ABC, where she became the first female network news anchor and landed some of her biggest interviews. By Joshua Young On Thursday,  Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner  asked a four-judge  Pennsylvania  Commonwealth Court panel to stop impeachment proceedings launched against him on November 16 after a vote from the state's House of Representatives. According to the Associated Press , one of the four judges, Ellen Ceisler, a Democrat, said, "It seems to me that these impeachment proceedings are based on disagreement with public policy and an elected official’s discretion. I think that this proceeding could set terrible precedent in the future." The judicial quartet's makeup is half Republican and half Democrat, with Ceisler counting as one of the latter. The impeachment stated that Krasner engaged in "misbehavior in office in nature of violation of victims rights," and "misbehavior in office in the nature of violence of the constitution of Pennsylvania by usurpation of the legislative function."  Thursday, Krasner argued that there...

The murder suspect, Bryan Kohberger, 28, was arrested in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains at 3 am. #BREAKING : Idaho murders arrest mugshot released.
