Savage: One Advocacy Group's Viral Campaign Delivers Homelessness to LA Mayor Candidate's Doorstep

By Jennifer Oliver O'Connell

Los Angeles District 4 City Councilwoman and socialist candidate for L.A. mayor, Nithya Raman, has gotten a small taste of what Angelenos have to deal with on a day-to-day basis, and she does not like it one bit.

An advocacy group called Safe Cities USA decided to stage a full-on homeless encampment at Raman's doorstep over Memorial Day weekend, and she was shocked that the campaign for mayor has come to this. She thought she'd be spouting World Economic Forum (WEF) garbage about bike lanes, transportation, and 15-minute cities. Instead, she's being confronted with what the majority of Los Angeles residents suffer under 24-7.

One almost feels sorry for her.... Naw, not really.

Raman resides in a two-million-dollar home in Silverlake, one of the toniest L.A. districts where the homeless dare not to go. So, Raman rarely (if ever) has to suffer the fear of being attacked by a crazed drug addict screaming at her on the sidewalk, the indignity of having to cover her children's eyes as they walk past half-naked people doing drugs or navigating a baby stroller through needles and poop.

As my colleague Nick Arama reported on Friday, Raman expressed her outrage that this would occur in front of her house, and that she had to shield her children from such ugliness, and that anyone would dare to invade her personal space. Poor princess.

Here's what Raman said in a podcast interview:

"I have two little kids. They didn't see it, luckily, this morning. But... but, you know, I feel badly that I'm even subjecting them to that at all. But it has definitely... this has gone far beyond what I was expecting the campaign to be about."

Welcome to the "Real World Los Angeles." Trust me, it is nothing like the realty-TV version at which Raman likes to cosplay.

The Safe Cities USA advocates took a feather from reality TV star and surging mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt's cap. One of the few real journalists in L.A. actually spoke with this organizer from the group, who said the staged encampment could be considered "political satire."

The organizer behind viral videos showing fake homeless encampments outside Los Angeles mayoral candidate Nithya Raman’s home is speaking out, calling the effort political satire, while Raman’s campaign says the stunt crossed a line into her personal space.

The videos, widely circulated on social media and viewed hundreds of thousands of times, show what appear to be staged homeless encampments placed outside Raman’s home, sparking debate over political protest and personal boundaries.

All of Los Angeles knows Raman cares little about anyone else's personal boundaries and certainly doesn't care about her own Council District 4 constituents having to deal with homeless encampments in front of their homes and businesses. RedState further reported on a 2024 town hall Raman hosted, where she was supposed to address residents' concerns about this. Raman all but laughed at parents' fears surrounding the encampments being so close to elementary schools, as she mocked their distress.

BOOED BY HER OWN VOTERS: Socialist Politician Says Drug Encampments Next to Schools “Don’t Matter” — Then Rolls Her Eyes

Watch this. Nithya Raman gets BOOED by her own constituents when she claims it “doesn’t matter” if homeless drug encampments are cleared out — or left right next to a school. Then she rolls her eyes like the people complaining are the problem.

This is exactly why Spencer Pratt must win.

These socialists are completely insane. They care more about protecting tents than protecting kids. No wonder everyone hates her.

This video is not AI. The boos and outcry from her constituents are real, as is Raman's horrific eyeroll in response to people rightly outraged that their supposed city leader holds such a cavalier attitude toward their plight.

So, this very effective stunt by Safe Cities USA is just deserts.

NEW: I spoke exclusively with the organizer behind the viral fake encampment videos outside Nithya Raman’s home. He defended the stunt saying:

“We brought it to her doorstep so she can see what other people are going through.”

Raman’s campaign says it crossed a line involving her family.

What is most important is that this group isn't done. The staged homeless encampment wasn't a one-off because Raman continues to be a terrible city council member and still thinks she can be mayor. Perish the thought.

So, Safe Cities USA has plastered Raman's district with posters mocking Raman's bill to ban barbecues on red flag days and another that proclaims, "Keep LA A ___hole. Vote Raman for Mayor."

You get the picture.

Just days after a staged homeless encampment outside her Silver Lake home, a new wave of flyers attacking Raman’s homelessness record and mocking her controversial backyard barbecue proposal is hitting the socialist’s neighborhood.

The flyers, plastered on utility poles and street fixtures, carry blunt messages including, “No BBQ For You. Vote Raman for Mayor” and “Keep LA A Sh*thole.”

The campaign is being funded by Safe Cities USA, which says it is operating independently of any mayoral candidate and is backed by Los Angeles residents, business owners and former Angelenos frustrated with the city’s direction.

The group says the flyers target Raman’s handling of homelessness, public safety and quality-of-life issues.

In a different statement to another outlet, it is clear Safe Cities USA is targeting both Raman and Bass, and that they are in the Spencer Pratt for Mayor camp.

“Our reasons are we don’t feel Bass or Raman should be spreading lies with facts and figures that can’t be verified,” the group said in a statement provided to The Post. “I have an obligation to fight back on behalf of our families and businesses. We can no longer sit back while they rob us blind.”

Safe Cities USA says the campaign reflects growing frustration among residents who believe Los Angeles has become overwhelmed by homelessness, addiction, crime and deteriorating quality of life.

“Residents and businesses have had enough,” the statement continued. “We finally have a mayoral candidate who is passionate, knowledgeable and willing to run the city using common sense.”

As the masked Safe Cities USA encampment organizer said, "It's a public street, and I can see where she's upset. But think about it, everyone else is going through the same thing, constantly they're being ignored."

Not anymore. Pratt is surging in the polls while Raman is sinking. May it continue, and here's hoping he pulls off a win.

In the meantime, welcome to the party, Nithya. So glad you're finally here.
