New Report: Blast Hits Pro-Israel Christian Group in Dutch Town of Nijkerk - Police Unsure of Motive

By Ward Clark

There has been an explosion in a Christian, pro-Israel center in the Netherlands. The center is in the Dutch central town of Nijkerk. No injuries have been reported. No suspect is yet in custody.

The Israeli Ambassador to the Netherlands, Zvi A. Vapni, took to his official X account to condemn the attack.

The post continues:

...these criminals must be captured and punished. This is the only way to deal with fanatics who wants to spread fear and hate.

I have spoken with Roger van Oordt from CVI and expressed full solidarity on behalf of Israel. We will not give in to intimidation.

The Israeli Times has more details.

A blast hit a pro-Israel centre in the Netherlands causing minimal damage and no injuries, police said Saturday, as the targeted group pointed to a spate of similar incidents across Europe.

A police spokeswoman told AFP no one was inside the site run by Christians for Israel, a non-profit in the central city of Nijkerk, when the explosion went off outside its gate late on Friday.

“Investigations revealed that a person dressed in black placed the explosive device,” the police added in a statement, appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A person dressed in black covers a lot of ground; a Hamas member, or an Antifa goblin, all would look much the same; that may explain the next statement:

Police cautioned it was too early to determine a motive for the incident. An investigation was ongoing and no arrests have been made so far, they added.

It's easy enough to speculate, as northern Europe has been the subject of wave after wave of immigration, legal and illegal, from majority-Muslim nations. These days, though, in Europe, Islam doesn't exactly have a monopoly on antisemitism.

Whoever carried out this attack could scarcely have chosen a more innocuous target, or one less deserving of being blown up:

Christians for Israel says its mission is to promote “Biblical understanding in the Church and among the nations concerning God’s purposes for Israel and to promote comfort of Israel through prayer and action”.

Its “Israel Centre” in Nijkerk hosts exhibitions, lectures and a shop, according to the group’s website.

There have been a string of similar attacks in Europe in recent weeks, and at least one group, appearing by the name to be an Islamist group, is taking some of the credit:

In March, four ambulances in north London belonging to Hatzola, a Jewish not-for-profit volunteer organization that responds to medical emergencies, were set ablaze outside a synagogue in an antisemitic hate crime.

UK media outlets reported that a terror group going by the name Ashab al-Yamin had taken responsibility for the attack on social media.

The group emerged publicly last month and is believed to be linked with Iranian terror networks. Israel’s Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Ministry said the group has claimed responsibility for a series of explosions and arson attacks targeting Jewish sites in Belgium, Amsterdam, and Rotterdam.

Iran, again. We do indeed live in interesting times, in the "ancient Chinese curse" sense.

This is a developing story. We will provide updates as events warrant.
