Watch: Woke TN State Legislator Escorted Out After Appearing to Threaten GOP Lawmaker in Wild Scene

A wild scene unfolded between two Tennessee state representatives during a contentious exchange Wednesday where one of them got up in the other one's face in a threatening manner while pointing his finger.
According to videos shared on social media, Rep. Justin Pearson (D) angrily walked up to Rep. Andrew Farmer (R) after a gun control bill Pearson was pushing failed to make it through the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee.
Per reporters who were in the room as the two went back and forth, Farmer was upset over Pearson's claim that they had allegedly done nothing to combat gun violence. When Farmer responded that it wasn't fair for Pearson to say they hadn't been doing the work and referenced that he (Pearson) had been absent for some of the legislative agenda that was in progress, Pearson got irate in response and mentioned that his brother had committed gun suicide in December, which is why he was away. He also falsely claimed Farmer was "personally" attacking him.
Apparently, it didn't get any better from there, and it resulted in Pearson marching up to Farmer and seeming to threaten him after the vote was taken:
“I know every member in this committee has been here this year working during committee, during session, voting on bills. And I know you may have some things going on, but you have not. So, I don’t think it’s fair for you to come in front of this committee and lecture us on hard work and convictions, and hard work for our committee,” said Rep. Farmer.
Pearson responded that his absence was due to his brother’s death by gun suicide.
“It is a pathetic excuse for you to not answer the question of why we are doing nothing about the gun violence epidemic, then to personally attack me. But let me explain to you what I have been doing… since you asked. My brother… one of the loves of my life passed away from gun suicide,” said Rep. Pearson.
“And since that happened, it shattered my family like gun violence has shattered so many families… I buried my brother. I planned for his entire funeral, my fiancée made his obituary, I made sure that he was taken care of – even in death. That’s what I’ve been doing,” Pearson said.
A WKRN reporter says Pearson was seen yelling and telling Farmer to “learn when to shut up.” He then physically charged at Farmer and had to be restrained.
To make it worse, people could be heard in the audience shouting for Pearson not to be restrained because apparently it should be okay to try and physically intimidate your fellow lawmakers.

Ah, yes. I remember this chump. The previously expelled state representative who adopted a fake accent and persona in a lame attempt to raise his national profile. https://t.co/Qq6vkpjBqq

Pearson, as RedState readers will recall, was one of the "Tennessee Three," two of whom were expelled from the state legislature after leading a "transurrection" in March of 2023, where a mixture of rabid transgender “rights” activists and gun control zealots stormed their way into the state legislature and not only disrupted official proceedings but also took the speaker’s podium and started yelling through a bullhorn.
Both Pearson and Rep. Justin Jones were the two expelled members, but both got back in not long after as their respective city councils/county commissions effectively voted to reinstate them.
I should also note for the record that this isn't Pearson's first physical confrontation with a Republican colleague. As RedState's Nick Arama reported in August 2023, it also happened during a floor debate on adding more police officers to public schools (bolded emphasis added):
...Justin Jones objected to it and refused to stay on topic according to the rules. So the Speaker, Cameron Sexton, called for a vote to silence him for the rest of the day. That ticked off the leftist fans of Jones, who caused so much chaos in the gallery that the police had to clear it, and people resisted being removed. The Democrats also walked out when the GOP members refused to change their votes.
Then, on Tuesday, Jones tried to get a vote of no confidence in Speaker Sexton. It did not go well, even less well than the day before.
Jones didn't succeed, even though the Jones fans in the gallery chanted, "Vote him out."
But trouble erupted when Justin Pearson and Justin Jones stalked Sexton with signs as he was trying to leave after adjourning the session. At one point, Pearson got in between Sexton and another representative who was covering Sexton's back. Pushing and shoving ensued. Sexton began shouting at Pearson, and Pearson began shouting back.

After numerous calls for violence from Democrats across the country like Jasmine Crockett, Justin Pearson is following suit with his extreme leftist comrades.

This kind of behavior has no place in our government. He is an embarrassment to the great State of Tennessee! https://t.co/U9Stset74W
