LOL: CNN+ 'Help' Twitter Account Proves Far More Entertaining Than Actual Streaming Service

Image
Skip to Comments By Sister Toldjah As we reported earlier , the CNN+ paid streaming service officially launched Tuesday complete with much fanfare and hype – mostly by CNN employees – designed to generate excitement for a network that is struggling to stay afloat on the “free” cable news side of things. Unfortunately for CNN and as we also noted, things have already gotten off to a very rocky start, with a report from Fox Business Network reporter Charles Gasparino pointing out that employees at CNN+ are already “bracing for layoffs possibly as soon as May amid projections of lackluster sales of new streaming channel.” In addition to that were the promotional emails CNN+ sent Tuesday where they offered “50% off for life” subscriptions to the platform, another sure sign that there is trouble in paradise. But though this news isn’t good for the likes of newly minted CNN+ star Chris Wallace , one intentionally humorous development that has come from the lackluster launch of C...

History Should Be Our Guide in Ukraine

Image
Skip to Comments By Victor Davis Hanson There are several historical referents we should keep in mind about the Ukraine war. First, no-fly zones . Lots of Westerners are calling for NATO aircraft to establish a no-fly zone above Ukraine to stop Russian bombing of Ukrainian cities. That is a terrible idea. Russian planes can still launch missiles from the nearby airspace of Russia and Belarus. No nation in history has declared a no-fly zone against an adversarial nuclear power. No-fly zones are best known from the 12-year air block over Iraq in between the two Gulf Wars. NATO also imposed a no-fly zone over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s, and again over Libya in 2011. These efforts were aimed respectively at the bloody though small-time dictators Saddam Hussein, Slobodan Milošević, and Muammar Gaddafi. None had nuclear weapons. Eventually the air patrols withered away. Often allies bickered about their relative contributions. Sometimes the zones failed to stop ongoing...

George W. Bush Meets with Illegal Aliens to Promote Amnesty, Snubbing Angel Families

Image
Skip to Comments By JOHN BINDER Former President George W. Bush met with illegal aliens this week to promote his amnesty and legal immigration expansion agenda, snubbing Angel Families who have lost loved ones to illegal alien crime in the process. On Tuesday, Bush and former first lady Laura Bush met with illegal aliens Gerardo Casas, Rebeca Gurrola, and Dip Patel — all of whom are enrolled in former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program — as well as mass migration advocates from Jewish Family Service of San Diego and the American Nursery & Landscape Association. Specifically, Bush  touted his efforts  over the last year in lobbying Republicans in Washington, D.C. to work with President Joe Biden on not only passing amnesty for illegal aliens but also expanding legal immigration levels beyond the 1.2 million green cards and 1.5 million temporary work visas given out to foreign nationals every year. Swimming with Dolphins Ban - Regulatory Overreach?

Image
Skip to Comments By Janet Levy The  ban  was proposed in 2016 and finalized in October 2021 by officials of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), a federal agency under the U.S. Department of Commerce.  The NMFS, supervised by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), is  “ responsible for the management, conservation, and protection of living marine resources within about 200 miles of the U.S. coast.”  The rule was framed by a civil servant under the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972.  It prohibits  “ persons, vessels or other objects” from  “ swimming with, approaching, or remaining within 50 yards” of a Hawaiian spinner dolphin ( Stenella longisrostris ), claiming that such interactions cause habitat displacement and disturb dolphin behavior patterns, especially that of coming to shore by day to rest and nurture their young. The stark arbitrariness of the ban is evident from the following: a) ...

Medical Student Says She Purposely Botched Procedure Because Patient Questioned Her Pronoun Pin

Image
Skip to Comments By Grant Atkinson People who work in the medical field make a commitment to uphold ethics and make every effort to avoid inflicting harm on patients. One student from Wake Forest University’s medical school said she betrayed that commitment because she was offended. On Sunday, Shirlene Obuobi MD posted a tweet about “transphobia” in her line of work. According to Fox News , Obuobi is a Ghanaian-American physician and author, and she is firmly on the political left. “My badge has had she/her pronouns for a year,” Obuobi wrote on Twitter. “I’m cis, & I wear it to help my patients & colleagues who fall under the trans umbrella feel a little more comfy. In the last few weeks, several cis patients have berated me for it.” Many people responded to Obuobi’s tweet with their own stories about experiencing “transphobia.” Most of these supposedly horrifying stories would barely raise an eyebrow for many Americans , but if these people want to get worked about ...
