Columbus police identify person of interest in Saturday’s protest

Image
COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus police say they have identified a man seen at protests, Saturday.   According to the Columbus Division of Police Facebook page, police were wanting to identify a man seen in a  YouTube video .   “We’d like to speak with this man,” the Facebook post reads.  Just before noon Sunday, police say they have identified the man. No other information was released by police. Taylor Waters, an attorney who says she represents the man in the photo, says the version of the photo and video shared by Columbus police was misleading and from an unreliable source. The photos and videos CPD previously shared regarding a person of interest were inaccurate and reckless. CPD shared an edited video from an unreliable and heavily biased source. The poster removed the portion of the video which clearly demonstrates a request for supplies. My client was not inciting violence, my client was seeking supplies to help peop...

Candace Owens: ‘ The Left’s goal is to pressure Trump to authorize the national guard to fire on the rioters—thereby proving he’s a murderous tyrant.”

Image
Candace Owens on Saturday said “The Left’s” goal is to pressure President Trump to use lethal force against protestors. Owens tweeted, “ The Left’s goal is to pressure Trump to authorize the national guard to fire on the rioters—thereby proving he’s a murderous tyrant. They don’t care how many Black neighborhoods must burn in the process. I don’t know how anyone in good conscience can ever vote Democrat again.” “First they burned down our economy, impoverishing millions through the lie of #coronavirus virulence. Now they support burning down entire cities. This year has been an act of war against @realDonaldTrump and the people that voted for him. The Democrats are truly evil.”

Rashida Tlaib is throwing her support for BLM, calling to defund the police. From Breitbart Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) tweeted support on Sunday for the Black Lives Matter petition to defund police departments across the United “Know that it’s still both, but don’t let the “who” overshadow the decades of structural racism that has created the system that allows police officer after police officer off the hook for murder. I just want us to dig deeper so that the #DefundPolice movement isn’t brushed aside,” Tlaib tweeted after an earlier post about the “what” is more important than the “who” in the death of George Floyd who died in police custody on Memorial Day in Minneapolis. “Too many folks are confused when they hear we need to #DefundPolice. I ask you to engage in this debate with an openness. There is real validity in dismantling the current racist system that has led to this pain.” Tlaib tweeted. Instead of *who* killed #GeorgeFloyd , we should focus ...

Senate Releases Transcripts of Flynn-Kislyak Call: ‘Nothing Improper, and the FBI Knew It’

Image
By KRISTINA WONG Transcripts between then-incoming National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and a Russian ambassador were released Friday afternoon, after Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe declassified and released them to Congress. “Lt. General Flynn, his legal team, the judge and the American people can now see with their own eyes – for the first time – that all of the innuendo about Lt. General Flynn this whole time was totally bunk. There was nothing improper about his call, and the FBI knew it,” Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley said in a statement, after releasing the documents. The transcripts released included the call between Flynn and Ambassador Sergei Kislyak on December 29, 2016, that had supposedly prompted the FBI to keep its investigation of Flynn as a potential Russian agent from shutting down. The transcript showed that Flynn had asked Kislyak to respond to sanctions from the Obama administration in a “reciprocal” ...

Image
By CHARLIE SPIERING President Donald Trump on Friday announced at the White House that the United States would terminate its relationship with the World Health Organization. The president said that Chinese officials failed to report details of the coronavirus properly to the World Health Organization (WHO) and pressured the organization to mislead the world about the its dangers. “Countless lives have been taken and profound economic hardship has been inflicted all around the globe,” he said. Trump said that the WHO failed to act on reforms that the United States had demanded, prompting his decision to end America’s role with the organization. “We have detailed the reforms that it must make and engage with them directly, but they have refused to act,” he said. Trump said that the United States would use the hundreds of millions previously sent to the WHO to other international aid programs. “The world needs answers from China on the virus,” Trump says. “...

Chief Justice John Roberts Sides with Liberal Justices as Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Restrictions on Religious Services

Image
By CHARLIE SPIERING The Supreme Court on Friday night ruled in favor of coronavirus restrictions on religious services in California in a 5-4 decision. Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the four liberal justices to side with California’s legal argument that they had the right to shut down or limit religious services. The decision came as thousands of protesters around the country gathered to protest the death of George Floyd, after a police officer in Minneapolis subdued him by kneeling on his neck for several minutes. Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel A. Alito Jr., Neil M. Gorsuch, and Brett M. Kavanaugh voted against. In his dissent, Kavanaugh argued that “comparable secular businesses” such as supermarkets, stores, hair salons, and marijuana dispensaries were not subject to the same restrictions as churches. “The church and its congregants simply want to be treated equally to comparable secular businesses,” Kavanaugh wrote. “California already trusts...

Knife-wielding woman shot and killed by police, days after her brother was arrested for ISIS terror plot

Image
Following the  nationwide protests over the deaths of George Floyd  and  Breonna Taylor , there is a laser focus on civilians who lost their lives in encounters with law enforcement. There was a police shooting this week where a woman died after she attacked a cop with a knife. In a strange twist, the Florida woman was the sister of a man who was arrested this week after allegedly planning terror attacks in the Tampa area. On Friday, a woman was sitting at a bench outside the City Hall of Temple Terrace, a town next to Tampa. Surveillance video shows a Temple Terrace Police officer approach the woman, and she springs up and swipes at him with a knife. She lunges at him a second time, and the officer retreats, but she pursues him. The woman and the man left the field of view of the surveillance camera. A second Temple Terrace Police officer appears in the frame of the camera, and he seems to be wielding a handgun. The woman, identified as 22-year-old Heba Momtaz Al-...

Minneapolis mayor says 'white supremacists,' 'out of state instigators' behind protests, but arrests show different story

Image
Minneapolis  Mayor Jacob Frey said Saturday that officials think "white supremacists" and "out-of-state instigators" could be behind the protests in the wake of  George Floyd ’s death, but a report showed that "about 86 percent" of arrests so far are mostly of in-state residents. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz also  said  Saturday that the majority of the protestors arrested were from outside Minneapolis and sought to take advantage of the chaos. However, a  report  by KARE 11 showed "about 86 percent" of the 36 arrests listed their address in Minnesota, and that they live in Minneapolis or the metro area, according to data the outlet analyzed from the Hennepin County Jail's roster. Five out-of-state cases came from Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Michigan and Missouri, according to KARE 11. The Minneapolis Mayor’s office and police department did not return Fox News' repeated calls for comment. "We are now confronting white supremaci...
